Shaikh ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani (RAA)
The term “Qadriyya” in our association’s name refers to our following the methodology and teachings of Shaikh ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani (RAA), which in turn are naturally in accordance with the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWS). Our teacher and spiritual guide is Shaikh ‘Abd al-Qadir’s direct descendant, Sherif Muhammad Haydara Al-Jilani. He is also the President of the Executive Committee of QARS – The Gambia.
Education
Part of QARS’ mandate is to educate and to this end, we have embarked on a long-term plan to provide basic schooling to children in under-serviced/remote areas of The Gambia.
Aqeedah Lessons
Dr. Umar Faruq Abd-Allah gave lessons on ‘aqeedah (Islamic creed) using the primer ‘Aqeedat Al-Najaat (Creed of Deliverance) by Imam Muhammad Ibn Ja’far al-Kittani. This course was taught over 7 days in Cairo, Egypt from January 7-13, 2013. These are the recordings of each class and subsequent Q&A sessions.
